Information

The 2nd Tokyo Conference on Argumentation will be held August 3-5, 2004, in Tokyo, Japan. The conference is sponsored by the Japan Debate Association (JDA). The conference is designed to encourage exchanges of views on the theory, practice and instruction of argumentation across the disciplines. Potential topics of interest include: argumentation and rhetoric, forensic pedagogy, the philosophy and psychology of reasoning, practical studies, and studies of historical argumentative texts. We anticipate that this conference will draw up to forty leading scholars in argumentation and debate from all over the world. Qualified papers will appear in our Proceedings to be distributed at the Conference.

On-line submission of abstracts will be available on March 1, 2003. Submit your abstract with necessary information on our web site at this page by January 20, 2004. Acceptance will be notified by February 28, 2004.

Accepted authors who wish to have their papers considered for publication in the Proceedings must submit full manuscript on our web pages by April 30, 2004. If you have any question, please contact Takeshi Suzuki, Planning Committee Chair and Associate Professor at Tsuda College, Tokyo, at jda@kt.rim.or.jp.
